Why is it that I've seemed so busy, yet I don't feel like I've done anything productive? lol
So the rest of July...
The MLSs came, along with Marissa's boyfriend, Kyle. He seems pretty cool. We had lots of food from Dad's new grill, and on Friday Marissa, Kyle, and I went to the fair. Saw the animals & stuff, rode some rides. On the way home Marissa wasn't feeling well so Kyle drove. We had the windows down cos it was hot/Marissa was still dizzy from the rides, and as Kyle (slowly) turned onto the highway, my aunt Marti's glasses flew off the dashboard and out the window... so we pull over, and then a semi flies by & I see glass fly up. We found one lens that was semi-scratched, and nothing else lol So that was an adventure.
Then that weekend was Chicago w/the Reynolds, which was awesome. We left Sunday morning and hit up the Lincoln Park Zoo, got rained on for a few minutes, it was crazy. But then the rest of the day was hotttttttt. Saw some pretty cool animals. Then we ate at the Rainforest Café, next to some fishies! Then Jacob & I found an Onion newspaper dispenser, which was awesome. Then we just chilled at the hotel. Watched the Cubs win. Got some McDonald's.
Monday morning we ate at Ihop (and they wouldn't give me cinniminions... jerks), then went to go find the metra. We saw one leaving, and then took forever to figure out where/how to park, then had to wait an hour for the next one. I got lots of reading done in Love in the Time of Cholera, though. When we finally got to the city, we took a water taxi to Navy Pier, and I finally got to see more of that place than the last time I was there. Unfortunately there wasn't much else to see, but it was still fun. Jacob, Kara, and I rode the Ferris Wheel, which didn't seem to know its cardinal directions. Ate some delicious chicken piccata... the best I've ever had in a restaurant. Then we took this cute trolley bus to the red line, and headed over to Wrigley. That place is totadorbs. I wanna live there lol and then the Cubs lost of course, cos they won all the times that week when we weren't there haha but oh well, it was still fun. Left in the 9th inning to get back to the metra before the last train. Had to wait again, but we got icees this time lol then back to the hotel & bedtime.
Tuesday morning we ate at this family restaurant place & I had the best ham I've ever had in my life. Then we went to Wal-Mart, which was the most awesome Wal-Mart I've ever been in. Got a bookshelf with Kara's discount. Then we hit the road. We were kinda worried that Jacob wouldn't get to work on time, so he called and had someone come in an hour early to cover him, but by the time we got to Clinton we had cut an hour off our ETA lol so another Wal-Mart stop. Then Jacob helped me put together the bookshelf and headed to work.
I went to 6 different Wal-Marts that week. The one in Bolingbrook, the one in Clinton, Thursday night Jacob & I went grocery shopping at the south one in town, then Friday Mom, Dad, & I went to Bloomington and went to one there, one in Spencer, and the east one all in one day. Bolingbrook was my favorite, with the east one close behind. lol We were in Bloomington for my last punch credit even, which I swore started at 1... we get there, and it doesn't start til 7... so we killed some time with shopping at Best Buy, Target, Dad got a haircut in the mall, went to Bed, Bath, & Beyond (where I got a hook for the bathroom, a clock for the living room, and reusable ice cubes so my drinks won't get diluted!). Then we ate at this place downtown which was really good. I even got bread pudding! Dad had a coupon for $25 off a $35 or more purchase... which was a pretty good deal I think. Then we went to Office Depot, and then that's when we went to my 4th Wal-Mart of the week. Found the lamp I wanted but not the rug, so that's why we stopped in Spencer, where I found another clock I liked better than the Bed, Bath, and Beyond one, but no rug, so then we went to the east Wal-Mart and Mom got me the rug, and a plush blanket for the living, room, and the clock I liked better! Then she said that's the last purchase she's making for our new apartment lol but it's starting to look a little more put-together now.
Last week was band camp at South. I had a blast. The kids are so great. They put 2 whole tunes on the field with music! That's over half of the drill learned. 29 pages in 4 days. They rock. Well technically they learned them all in 3 days, and the 4th day was spent cleaning/adding "dance" moves/learning how to march on the grass. I was the only female non-guard staff member lol it was weird. We all had fun though. Thursday after the performance and potluck dinner some of us chilled at the Murphy's.
This past weekend Jacob & I (mostly Jacob) had to clean his old apartment... which was a nightmare. At least we're done with that place for good now. Hopefully he'll get at least some of the deposit back... we'll see.
Then Sally moved in on Sunday and I feel like I've hardly seen her lol Also, Jacob brought home the new Super Mario Bros and Lego Harry Potter Years 1-4 for the wii, since Sally brought hers with her... so that's pretty much all we've been doing this week. We both finished year 2 last night and Jacob was starting on year 3 when I left for work this morning haha it is so much fun!
I only have 1 week and 1.5 days left of working in the office... it's crazy. We've been working on getting offices put together for the grad students & whatnot, which is ME! I know my office number & officemates now :) Now if I could just find out my teaching assignments... but oh well. Also, Deb seems to think that we get 9 hours waived, which means I would only have to pay the Rec center fee of $100 for the fall... I already own one of my textbooks, and 2 of my classes don't have books, so this semester is looking to be pretty inexpensive. That means I can use some of my loan money to get a new laptop, which is desperately needed...
Ok so now that my novel is finished I will go back to work now lol hopefully Sally will come in so we can work on getting furniture in the offices :) 20 days til school starts!

busy...
So July has been a pretty busy month so far. We're all moved into the new apartment. Haven't unpacked everything yet, though. Sally's room is still full of buckets and boxes...
I dogsat Pebbles last week while my family was in Memphis. We had fun I guess. She got a bath on Monday and is very fluffy & smells nice!
Spain won the World Cup, so that's awesome :)
We have up to channel 74 at my apartment, and I am shamelessly getting addicted to HGTV, ABCfamily, etc. I mean, I already was addicted to ABCfamily shows, but now I can watch them live... Hopefully they don't go away anytime soon.
The MLSs aka my dad's brother and his family are coming tonight for a couple days, so I'm pretty pumped about that. Too bad Jacob works the next two days :( But then he has Saturday, Sunday, and Monday off cos on Sunday we're headed up to Chicago!!! Cannot wait!
I feel like there should be more to blog about since it's been a couple weeks, but I guess I've just been doing nothing lol oh well... I'll have more to blog about after this weekend :)

NEW APARTMENT!!!
WE MOVE INTO THE NEW APARTMENT TODAY!!!
In other news...
The Rex game last week was awesome... I was kinda feeling bummed in the first inning cos they got a run and it was just sucktacular... but in the 3rd inning we got 3 runs... and in the 4th we got 8!!! 8 RUNS!!! It was an awesome game, and I was almost confused when the game was over after 9 innings... haha felt weird. We got Ritter's afterward, which was delicious, of course.
Friday I went home for dinner... my dad grilled pizza on the new grill. It was really good. Then Mom & I replaced my air filters by ourselves :) There was minimal arguing and we didn't even have Dad help us. He was mowing. haha but definitely saved $35 by doing it ourselves instead of having the Station Break guys do it, and it's pretty easy to do.
Saturday was laundry day. Oh yeah, saw the Danville Symphony play. I was pretty impressed.
Sunday was finish laundry day... watched Mexico get beat by Argentina... packed some.
Monday cleaned out my car... found my favorite black heels! haha and a buncha other random stuff... had THCB practice... Have I mentioned that I ♥ the 4th of July concert? cos I totally do :)
Tuesday was work, which was watching Paraguay beat Japan and part of the Spain/Portugal game... which I finished at home lol vamos España :) then dinner w/Mom and Jacob at Applebee's, and the Rex game... who lost this time (to the same team they beat on Thursday), but they play them again on Saturday so we'll get another chance :)
Yesterday Bri, Cate, Aubrey & I went to the zoo for Aubrey's 4th birthday, which is Sunday :) Her golden birthday! Can't believe she is that big already... we had lots of fun, although Aubrey was quite grumpy all day lol
Today... I am at work for another hour... and then at noon I am getting the key to the new apartment! ahhhhhhhhhh so excited! taking off the rest of the day to move stuff in before Jacob has work at 5. I cannot wait. It's finally here! I can't wait to move stuff in & set everything up & put kitchen stuff away and all my clothes in my own closet and ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I'm so pumped I'm about to explode.
Other awesome things this weekend? Lindsey's wedding on Saturday, and the 4th of July concert on Sunday :) It will be a good end to this week to party & celebrate :)
P.S. I almost forgot! Jacob and I have been together for 2/3 of a year today :) So much win!

St. Louis is awesome!
No, seriously, I am like in love with St. Louis right now. but I will get to that.
Monday got my oil changed & my back wiper replaced! but it's still getting stuck, so that sucks? Lunch at the Crossroads Cafe, where I hadn't been in years... had delicious chicken salad on a croissant and lots of fresh fruit on the side :) I was pretty proud of myself after the weekend of Holiday World, Olive Garden, Red Lobster, and movie popcorn...
THCB was FUN! I ♥ the 4th of July concert more than anything. Best piccolo music ever! and the Coopers are back, which is cool. We went 2 1/2 hours long for rehearsal and STILL didn't get through all the music... haha should be a fun concert.
Tuesday was work! So sleepy as always. Also met with our new landlord, signed the lease, & paid the deposit :) so it's official! I am so pumped! we move in 1 week from today!
Then I went skating that evening w/some derby girls. I am getting pretty good on turns, but I need to make my turns sharper & not as wide. Even learned some other tricks from Katie, one of the girls. I wanna get my own gear so I can practice more! We went to Wigwam, where I'd never been before. It was smaller & cheaper & less crowded, which I liked. I even did a couple laps on my own! and Katie cheered me on on my turning skills :) and although I did fall once... it was only cos I tripped going from the wood to the carpet on the place where you're not supposed to lol so it TOTALLY doesn't count.
Yesterday no work! We went to my house to watch the USA/Algeria game. It was pretty crazy. 0-0 for 91 minutes, including a goal we got taken away because of offsides (I sound like I know what I'm talking about, don't I? haha) and then we scored a goal! yay go us!
Yesterday evening we headed over to St. Louis to see Passion Pit (and Tokyo Police Club and Brahms). The street the place was on was adorable & had all these shops & restaurants! I wish we had had more time to look around. We were looking at places to eat and most of the menus looked pretty expensive, but we stopped in front of this Chinese place that was actually pretty reasonable, and the lady came outside & told us to come inside cos they're the number 1 Chinese restaurant lol we got free soup out of it! Which had a bunch of stuff in it I don't want to know what it was, but it was pretty tasty minus the cilantro. I hate cilantro. I got sesame chicken & Jacob got sweet & sour chicken, which were both delicious. Then we killed time by walking up & down the street. Found a cute furniture store & an awesome record store. Definitely need to go back there sometime. And the concert was pretty awesome. The under 21s were cut off from the balcony, so it was pretty awesome to go up there. We left at midnight since I had to be at work this morning. I was only 30 minutes late!
So I definitely want to go to St. Louis for vacation sometime. I haven't really been there since like 1997 or something like that, besides going to Six Flags in like 2001 or something. And I love that place! And I love the arch! So cool!
Now I think I am going to take my lunch & go visit Jack :) Rex game tonight!

sad news
yes, I have to begin this post with some sad news :( I lost my fishy friend, Pedro Klaus Steppe I. He'd been sick for a few days and I had been giving him medicine & stuff but I guess he just couldn't pull through. I had him for 1 year, 7 months, and 2 days.
in other, more happy news, Holiday World was fun. Except that when we got there our tickets were messed up & we had to stand around in the sun outside the park for 30 minutes getting them fixed. But once inside Jacob & I rode (in order) Frightful Falls, Raging Rapids, Pilgrim's Plunge, the Voyage, then headed over to Splashin' Safari for the lazy river, Wildebeest, Bakuli, and Zinga. Then we had pizza for lunch from Jungle Jake's then headed back to the dry stuff and rode Revolution (I did not know the name of that ride until I looked it up, and I LOVE that ride), Paul Revere's Midnight Ride, the Lewis & Clark Trail, and then didn't have much time left so looked in shops, ate ice cream & got fudge to take with us. I got a flower hair accessory thing but it's kinda dumb. it was only $1.79 though so I figured it'd be ok. I wish we had had more time. We tried to do the new stuff/things we love the most. Maybe we'll go again this summer. Then on the way back the bus driver didn't want to go to the Flying J cos it wasn't half way between the park & the Haute, which caused some problems, but oh well. Then we we got back we met up w/Kurt & Steven at bdub's, which was fun. I love those guys & I wish we got to hang out more.
Saturday I slept in! Hung out with Jack all afternoon, then tried to go to Red Lobster w/Jacob's parents but their power was out, so we went to Olive Garden instead. Then went to the Rex game, where I stayed for about 30 minutes then had to go to my concert, which went really well! I had a few solos and I kicked butt. Plus it was 85% Disney music, so you know I was happy :) Then I headed back to the game, which was tied 4-4 in the 8th inning, and remained tied for the next 5 innings until the Rex finally got a run in the 14th! So that was fun.
Sunday went to Red Lobster (for real this time) with my fam and Grandad. Then we headed over to Paris to see Toy Story 3, which made me cry multiple times, including the short beforehand. Oh man those people know how to make a movie. Then more Jack time, then headed to Brazil to eat at the Brazil Grill and stopped by Forest Park & the concert to show Jacob around. Got to hear my daddy play a solo, so that was cool :)
And right now I have to go sign my timesheet before I pick up Mom for an oil change date... how romantic? anyway

fail.
whoa so, what have I been up to... all month? I knew I hadn't updated in a while but I didn't think it was this bad.
So mostly my routine has just been work, cleaning, watching TV/movies, and the like. Last week I helped out with South's music camp and have been dogsitting for Dr. Phillips.
Got completely burnt at the Rex game on Sunday. my back is starting to peel and I am not happy about it.
Going to Holiday World tomorrow with the band :) We were supposed to go this past Saturday but the weather was horrible. Yesterday was the first day without rain in a while.
Oh and I'm taking up roller derby. It sounds so lame out loud, erm, typed out? But I went skating last night for the first time in years and I did not fall once! so that's a good sign, right?
Ok I can't really think of anything else right now but I'll try to come back sooner next time :)

7 months!
Happy 7th monthiversary to Jacob and me!
so Sunday after Jacob got off work we made a grocery list, stopped by Kroger for a side dish, then headed home & started cooking. I think the quesadillas were well-received. Despite Bri's protests to refried beans, hers were gone before everyone had sat down to eat. She claims she just needed the nourishment, but I think we all know Jacob and my cooking is just too much to resist. :) Mom iced the red velvet cake and we had some of that for dessert so it didn't go to waste :) Then we did our grocery shopping and went home and watched some of the Discovery Channel's Life documentary, which was amusing/educational.
Yesterday we made waffles for breakfast! We were afraid they weren't going to turn out so great, but they turned out pretty well, so go us! Watched some more Life, chilled most of the day. I took Jacob to work early since he got holiday pay for it being Memorial Day, and then I headed to Jeffrey Alans. Good thing he wanted to go to work early because they closed at 5! But I got some awesome stuff, including a storage container for my paper so Jacob won't mess it up anymore :P Then I came home and started making thank you cards but I ran out of adhesive after 2 cards lol also, I attempted to get my pics off my camera so I could post my cards on here, but I hadn't reinstalled my camera's software after Jacob installed Windows 7, so I was too lazy to do that... lol so soon I promise!
I also kinda started my workouts last night. I had tried to do the hundred pushups challenge at hundredpushups.com, but I never followed through with it. Jacob said he wanted to try it, so we're both doing that, and then I found that they also have twohundredsitups.com and twohundredsquats.com, so I did my initial tests for those. I knew I wouldn't do well on pushups... I could only do 2 good-form ones... but I did 40 situps and squats each! Thank you, dance! haha so we'll see how well I can do with those. Jacob & I are both watching what we eat as well. I'm limiting myself to one sweet a day, which is really hard for me. I did well yesterday, though. I also have lots of fruit and yogurt and cereal handy for if I need a snack between meals. I bought this adorable sun dress at American Eagle over Christmas break, and I am determined to fit in it by the end of the summer. I would like to be able to wear it in July, but I'm not sure that is physically possible.
In other news, I actually got to work a little bit early this morning! I was exhausted as I always am on Tuesday mornings, but I got myself up & fed & dressed in time to get here before 9, so go me!
And as the title shows, today is Jacob and my 7th monthiversary! That's more than half a year! And he doesn't have to work today so we can do something fun to celebrate, yay!

Memorial Day Weekend
So Thursday I did end up leaving work after only being there for an hour. At least I got one hour in on my timesheet... Jacob and I made teriyaki burgers for dinner... they were delicious... with potatoes au gratin and corn. go us! Then he went to work at 5 and I went home and cleaned some for the cookout and then came back to the apartment and spent a couple hours scrubbing the kitchen & bathroom floors... my knees are still sore. and of course they didn't stay clean for 5 minutes... but oh well.
Friday I worked from 9-1. The smell was gone! Then I came home and fixed myself lunch, and watched TV all afternoon. I love summer :) I made mac n cheese and attempted to make teriyaki chicken sandwiches for dinner, but the buns were moldy... so they turned into teriyaki chicken wraps in tortillas instead :) still good, though!
then after dinner Jacob & I went to Old Navy. I wanted to get a cover-up for my swimsuit for when we go to Holiday World. Turns out they were having an awesome sale :) 50% off the clearance stuff! so I got a dress for Holiday world, and a couple skirts, and a shirt for Jacob. after that we went to the mall and got him a haircut and looked around.
Then we went to Big Lots to see if they had a cheap dining set. We need a table and chairs for the new apartment. They didn't, however. Although I have to tell my funny story here that Jacob hates. We were looking at the kitchen supplies, and someone had left a plastic Hannah Montana fake cell phone on the shelf with the crock pots... I picked it up and pretended to dial Jacob's number. Well at the time he was messing around on his cell phone and not paying attention to me, so I reached into my purse and dialed him on speed dial, put my phone back in my purse, and pretended to dial him on the fake phone. He saw he was getting a call from me, saw me with the Hannah Montana phone to my ear, and just looked at me in awe! He couldn't figure out how I was calling him with the fake phone. It was definitely my favorite moment of the evening, if not our entire relationship. haha then he was mad at tried to dump me in a bin of pillows, but oh well. Totally worth it when I picture his face looking at me and the Hannah Montana phone.
After Big Lots we headed to Bogey's and played a game of mini golf. We were pretty close the whole game, and then going into the last hole Jacob had 63 and I had 64... and I got a hole-in-one on the last hole! And then Jacob got it in 2, so we tied with 65 each :) par was 54... lol
needless to say it was a pretty enjoyable evening. We put in Wolfman when we got home, but I couldn't stay awake and slept through the last 40 minutes or so. I liked what I saw, though! Have to try again some other time.
Yesterday was my cookout! headed home around 1 to help cook & clean. Didn't quite get the red velvet cake finished... got it baked, but didn't ice it. Probably going to do that tonight. But the cake balls were a success! Steven showed up with a huge "Congrats Grad" balloon tied to his belt. He was sad that he didn't get to wear it at his graduation yesterday lol The cookout was a pretty good success, I think. everyone pretty much cleared out around 9. Then later I met up with Jacob and the fam at BAM. Got a Spanish vocabulary book! I'm pumped about that. We watched Alice in Wonderland when we got home. I liked it a lot better than I thought I would.
This morning I was woken up by Jeremy calling and inviting me to breakfast with him and Kim, so I met them for a late breakfast at Cracker Barrel. That was fun. I hardly ever get to see those two!
Now I am being lazy and watching TV, messing around on my computer, and reading. But not all at once. After Jacob gets off work we're headed to my house to make the famous quesadillas for dinner. See if my dad likes my cooking. He was already complaining about black beans being in the recipe... now I know how he's felt all these years cooking for my picky self! C'est la vie.

*yawn*
I had the hardest time getting out of bed this morning. probably shouldn't have started a movie after 10:30 but I really wanted to watch it!
anyway, after work on Friday Jacob & I went to Joann & I got some more supplies for a belated birthday card for my Grandma. I need to post pics of my cards! I will, I promise. Then went home and made the card, while the weather was crazy. There were tornado WARNINGS everywhere! We were supposed to meet at Olive Garden at 4, but the warning didn't end until then, so we met up a little later. It was funny cos when us girls all met up in the parking lot it was sunny, and then immediately started pouring down so we had to run inside! James was our server, which was fun. I had those new crespelle Italian crepes thing. It was pretty good. Not as great as I was expecting, but still good. I didn't have to babysit cos they were staying in due to the weather, so Jacob & I just chilled the rest of the night.
Saturday I was lazy during the day while Jacob was at work, then after he got done we met his parents and Josh at the mall, then had dinner at Cheeseburger, and went to BAM and drove around a bit. Got some more books, of course :)
Sunday Drew, Auchter, and Zach brought by my couch that I have missed so much. It only took them 7 minutes to get it up 3 flights of stairs... crazy. haha then after Jacob got off work we went by ON and he got a new swimsuit and headed home for Lost! We got pizza for dinner. Lost was... I dunno. I mean, it didn't answer everything of course, but I kind of like how it ended? I'm still not sure.
Monday I came in to work for a couple hours cos I had to sign my timesheet anyway. Kendra & I moved all the computers out of the TA offices... it was hard work. Then Jacob & I went to Old Navy again and I exchanged the top of my swimsuit for a bigger one, except that they wouldn't do a straight exchange from the website purchase... so I had to return the one I got online, and buy a new one... which was the exact same top, just a size up, but it was more expensive cos the sale changed :( Oh well. Jacob and I made orange chicken for dinner that day... yum! then THCB, then Applebee's with Luann. 99 cent margarita Mondays!
Tuesday was a very slow day at work. I hardly did anything. But Sally & I talked on facebook for a bit! that was great. talked about the new apartment :) so pumped! After work Jacob & I chilled for a bit, then made lemon cream pasta with chicken for dinner... soooooooooooooooooo delicious! We are becoming quite the cooks! We went for a walk later and went to Blockbuster and got a couple movies. watched 500 Days of Summer finally. I loved it! Oh yeah, and I saw a lightning bug on our walk :) it's officially summer!
Yesterday we went to lunch in Newton w/friends of his from high school, so that was fun. Stopped by the house to say hi but no one was home, besides Sammy the cat :) so I finally got to meet him. We didn't really get along, though. :P Then I had to get fingerprinted for helping out at South, and then GNO f/Jacob at Friday's! Finished laundry after getting a new dryer this weekend, then took Bri to Neil's. Went on another walk last night, then watched Away We Go, hence not being able to get up this morning.
However, looks like I won't be here much longer. They're working on the roof and the smell of burnt rubber is making Deb sick. I'm starting to get dizzy as well. The English department already went home today. It would be nice to get a nap in this afternoon :)
Tonight starts the getting ready for the cookout on Saturday. Dad's making carrot cake balls and German chocolate cake balls... omg! so pumped about those. And I am making a red velvet cake! Everyone likes rainbow chip frosting, right? :)
Countdowns:
2 days until my cookout!
37 days until move-in!

rain, rain, go away!
...and of course I forgot my umbrella today. Oh well, I've only been on one run and it wasn't raining too terribly.
You would think with it being summer and me having nothing to do I would update more often, but apparently I have been keeping busy?
Last Friday after work I went home and ate Los Tres with my parents for dinner, which was delicious of course. After that Mom & I went shopping at Kohl's for Luann's bridal shower, Wal-Mart, and Joann's, which I LOVE! I got some card-making supplies to stock up :) and it was only 9 bucks for everything I got! which I was impressed with. I saved over 10 dollars :) It's always great to save more than you spend. Then I made Luann a card for her shower. My very first card! I am so proud of it :) I took pictures. I will have to upload those later so you all can see how amazing I am. :D After that I convinced the rents to go get ice cream, so we went to the Grandma & Grandpa's ice cream place down the highway. It was my first time and it was delicious! I got orange pineapple; it was amazing. After that headed back to the apartment and used my new organizational supplies from Wal-Mart to clean up. It only took me 2 hours! And it's stayed just as clean the past week, so let's hope I can keep it up :)
Saturday Jacob & I had lunch with our friend Mike at Real. Yes, Mexican two days in a row. That afternoon we headed over to Newton to hang with the fam (minus Kara :( ). We ate dinner at Joe's, which is a delicious Italian place. They showed me around the town some and then we headed to Effingham for more sights, and to see Iron Man 2. It was nice since I fell asleep the first time, and the film was messed up, so this time filled in some of the blanks :)
Sunday was Luann's bridal shower at Chan's lakehouse. I had never been out there before; it's pretty snazzy. It was a small, quiet affair with lots of lady talk mostly. It was also her 3rd shower so I think that's ok :) The moms seemed impressed with my card, so I was happy! After Jacob got off work we did some grocery shopping and cleaned out the fridge... threw away 5 trashbags' worth of stuff! It was mighty gross. That night I also got a text from Sally in Berlin that she got us an apartment! We move in in July. I am so pumped!
Monday I had THCB again. We got out the folders for the 2nd concert, too, and it's FULL of Disney stuff :) and the Wizard of Oz, of course. I can't wait!
Tuesday I worked, and then Max time in the afternoon. after that Jacob & I made quesadillas with this recipe I found... they were the best quesadillas I've ever eaten in my entire life, probably. Definitely need to buy a recipe book & put that one in there :) watched Lost while skyping with Mom and Bri. That was fun, but Sunday we'll all be watching together! In the same room! Can't wait :)
Wednesday I had off. We spent the whole day cleaning. We cleaned out the kitchen counter and the stove and the tub and the bathroom counter... and yes, that took all day. It looks super awesome now. Or at least it does for short periods of time before people put more crap on the clean surfaces... *sigh* We'll have our own apartment soon! And I know Sally & I aren't the cleanest of people but it's still gotta be better than now!
Yesterday I worked. Spent most of the day organizing the library in the conference room. That was a lot of work... so many journals and reference books! And the organization was horrible... so I tried to fix it, but it still doesn't make a lot of sense. Things went mostly wherever they would fit on the shelves... I injured myself too many times readjusting those shelves. After work Jacob & I made chicken teriyaki sandwiches with the George Foreman. They were amazing! And really easy to make, too. I ♥ that grill. Then Jacob had to go to work. I ended up hanging out with Bri and Neil. We got some pizza and watched Year One and some TV. It was nice to hang out with my sissy.
Today is Friday! I only have 30 minutes left of work and then it's the 3.5-day weekend! Dinner tonight is Olive Garden with Mom, Bri, and Grandma. I can't wait to try those new Italian crepes they've been advertising... my stomach just grumbled in agreement. I might be babysitting as well, but they haven't gotten back with me yet. Hope I am, cos grocery money would be sorely appreciated :)
I promise I'll update more often so that they don't end up this long... or I'll at least try :)

Summer :)
That's right folks, I am officially on summer vacation! and have been for over a week now, and have been out of the country and back in it since I last updated... but here I am now.
Finals went pretty well. Spanish was a breeze of course. It was way easier than I thought it was going to be, too, so I was pretty pumped about that.
Wednesday I worked in the office, and then for dinner went to a BUSY Real with Meghan and Kareema for Cinco de Mayo. That was a blast!
Thursday Jacob & I cleaned the bathroom some... it was definitely a team effort, and is definitely not a completed job yet... Then we had a picnic lunch at Deming with Steamboat sandwiches yum :) and we were going to go look at apartments, but they only had one to show us so we just rescheduled. Then it was Max time after school. We played Life, and Max kicked our butts. That evening was the College of Arts & Sciences award night. Kurt & I were the Outstanding Graduating Seniors for the Music and LLL departments, respectively :) and we both graduated Magna Cum Laude! We're practically twins. After that Mom, Dad, Jacob, and I ate at the Bierstube... mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!! And I got a new watch from Mom & Dad... one that wasn't a $6 one from Wal-Mart and will actually last me a few years :) Oh and also, glittery Belle stickers... I was way more pumped about that :) And the bag was white with a blue star on it! Which is two of my favorite things, plus ISU's colors :) My mom truly outdid herself. Then that night Jacob, Clint, & I went to see Iron Man 2 at midnight. That was pretty much an awesome evening.
Friday I worked during the day and had the last showing of the musical at night.
Saturday we headed to Canada! It was only about an 8-hour drive to London, which is an awesome place. I just wish it hadn't been so cold! We got to the hotel around 4 and then headed over the mall on the way downtown. I got some Miss Vickie's sea salt & malt vinegar chips at Dollarama, which were in French & English :) I haven't tried them yet but I brought some from lunch today so we'll see if they're as awesome as I hope they are. It was funny being in the mall, cos there were British spellings everywhere & I loved people's accents. Every time I heard someone say "about" or "out" or "sorry" or something like that I had a hard time not giggling. And they were the friendliest people, too! Every time we walked into a store they'd be like "Hey how's it going?" and it was awesome. I found the Hoosiers DVD in a movie store, which made me happy.
After we left the mall we headed downtown. We ended up parking pretty much as close as we could to the building where the concert was... it was awesome. Then it was a short walk to the diner I scoped out online before we left. We stopped in some shops along the way. There were a lot of cute shops but most of them closed pretty early. We ate at that diner and had "poutine" (it wasn't really poutine, just fries and gravy and shredded cheese, but delicious nonetheless), and delicious milkshakes! Jacob got banana/butterscotch, and I ordered mint chocolate but I just got chocolate. It was still delicious, though.

Then we walked around and ended up finding the park I had scoped out as well. Victoria Park, home of the black squirrels! They were very friendly, in hopes that we would feed them.

Then we ran out of things to do, and it was cold, so we sat in the car awhile while we waited for the doors to open. We saw some people trickling in around 7, so we went in and were one of the first in line. Then it was more standing & waiting once we got let in the venue, but at least we were right up on stage :) Stars were AMAZING!!! Best concert I've ever been to. They played through the new album, then came back & did another set of oldies but goodies :) it was amazing. I even got a rose at the end from the many flowers they had onstage :)

Sunday we had breakfast at the hotel then headed back. We stopped for lunch somewhere in Michigan at a DQ, and had dinner at Chicago's Pizza in Cloverdale, which was delicious... wish we still had the one in TH.
Monday I went into work but Deb had gone home sick, so I worked for an hour then went home & watched Lost the rest of the day :) that night was the first THCB rehearsal of the season :) Felt good to play my piccolo again.
Tuesday Deb was still sick, which meant more Lost, and Jacob & I actually caught up in time to watch that night's episode on TV! We also had more Max time.
Wednesday I finally worked a full day, then that night was laundry and Corner Gas :)
Yesterday was an even more full day... work, then helping out with 5th grade band auditions at Woodrow Wilson (where I got asked if I was a student...), Then cleaned up for 2 hours... then after realizing my feet hurt cos I'd been on them for 12 hours straight, I finally took a break.
Today is Friday! This is the first time all week I've had downtime at work... hence me just now updating. I've been busy organizing and doing other things around here. Now I'm getting sent to the bookstore, so that's all for now!

Finals week!
Finals week is finally here! That much closer to summer!
Last week the musical opened at Rose. Thursday I only had Spanish class, and Jacob & I took care of season 5 of Lost :) then we ate at Straßenfest with my parents, then opening night! After that we got Steak n Shake :)
Friday was my last day of classes as an undergrad! Then I worked, then was the dance showcase which went fairly well. Some of us forgot some of the new formations we changed for the gym, but it went well over all :) and we're finally DONE with Tik Tok! lol then Jacob & I rushed to Dustin and Ashley's wedding, which was beautiful. I was sad we couldn't stay for the reception :( They started serving the food just as we had to leave so I could make it to the musical. *sigh* then I had a fun weekend with Miss Pebbles.
Saturday I went to lunch with Clint at Sonka's for burger & a brew which was good. I'd never had one of their burgers before. I was delightfully impressed. We shared dessert, too. It was epic. Then I rested in the afternoon, and when Jacob got off work we went to Olive Garden for our halfiversary. 6 months! Then to the musical, than afterward Jacob and I saw Hot Tub Time Machine, which was pretty funny.
Yesterday the musical was a matinee, and then I studied the rest of the day.
Today was the 351 exam, which I feel pretty good about. Then I took my sociology exam, but I might retake it because we get two chances and I have a high B right now which I would like to bump up to an A... but maybe the curve will help that, too. Then Jacob and I got Mark Pi's and ate by the fountain, and now I'm at work!
Tonight I think Clint & I are going to Applebee's. That's all I have to do tonight, plus studying for tomorrow and recording my final recording for Spanish. Then it is summer vacation!
1 day until summer :)
5 days until Canada :) (Jacob & I have been warming up for it by watching Corner Gas. Too bad we're not going to Saskatchewan!)

only 3 finals!
So this weekend was kinda relaxing... at least I didn't do any homework (besides Friday night).
Saturday we went to Moonshine and had delicious burgers. I was afraid it was going to rain but it held off long enough. Then Kurt's recital was at 5, which was great of course :) then Jacob and I went to the new pizza place, Wise Pies on 6th street. Then my dad called me and told me there was a birthday celebration for my 2nd cousin Jacob at Stable's, so I headed over there. Too bad I had already eaten, cos man... free Stable's! then later we went to bdub's with Kurt, Luann, Phil, Chan, & Frankie.
Sunday was the Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics honors ceremony thing. I gave my senior presentation and initiated the Phi Sigma Iota new people, and got a certificate for my Outstanding Graduating Senior in the department award. Then went to the pie place with the rents and met up with Grandad, and Jacob came when he got off work. Then I played w/Kevin in his guitar recital which went really well. Then I had my first rehearsal of tech week for the musical at Rose... well I got there at intermission. I don't play a lot so I got a lot of reading done.
Monday was a normal Monday, with tech week rehearsal at the end of it...
but Tuesday was a relief for me. I gave my senior presentation one last time to the LLL 200 students, and gave my presentation for Spanish! I was pretty excited, cos that meant only 4 finals standing between me and summer... but guess what?!?! When I got to Linguistics, we filled out the evaluations, and she handed us back our quizzes, which was my lowest score, but it was still a 105 lol and THEN she told us the most wonderful news! The students with A-averages on all the other quizzes don't have to take the final! and we don't have to go to class this week because it's just review for the final! so that knocked off another final, and it was my latest one, on Thursday, which means I have two finals on Monday and one on Tuesday and then it's summer vacation for me!!! so I am a happy girl right now :) And then I went to orchestra for 15 minutes, and I'm done with orchestra, too! so this Thursday, I only have to go to Spanish from 12:30-1:45! yay! And during rehearsal last night I got some studying done for 351. I have 4 of the 36 listening examples memorized w/all their info and stuff. So go me!
so right now I am at work, and Deb's at lunch, and I'm gonna get some of my sociology reading/studying in while I can.
now only 6 days until summer!
10 days until Canada/Stars! best kickoff to the summer EVER!!!

The end is in sight!
Everyone knows the week before dead week is the most stressful... and that week is finally over for me!!!
Wednesday paper was due, and rehearsed with Kevin for his recital on Sunday. Dinner with Mom and Jacob at Friday's, and dress rehearsal for the orchestra concert...
Yesterday ate lunch with Jacob by the fountain! it was lovely and my arms got a little brown! Started our presentations in Spanish. I go on Tuesday. Then a quiz in my grammar class, so I was done 50 minutes early :) Spent the afternoon working on my Spanish presentation and studying before I had to come back to campus for our last Linking Language Learners meeting! Then the concert. I didn't even realize until afterward that that was my last one... whoa! Got dessert with Mom and Dad at the Hilton afterward... chocolate decadence = omg. Then studied the rest of the evening until my brain stopped working.
Today got that test over with... now I have 10 days to study for the final... bring it on. So now I'm at work of course. Trying to get as much homework done as possible now so I can give my brain a rest this weekend!
Jacob has to work from 3-11 today and I work until 3, and babysit tonight so I won't get to see him until after that :( But I'm planning on knocking out a lot of my sociology reading tonight cos that exam is the 3rd, same as 351... almost done!
5 school days until finals...
13 days until summer vacation :)

My life post-Fusion
So that was a crazy week and a half or so...
Saturday the 10th I had makeup workshop for Fusion, then Jacob's family came to town and we ate at Olive Garden for his early birthday, and saw Date Night, and hit the mall & Books-A-Million. Then I had to run to rehearsal for Fusion, but I got done earlier than I thought, so that was good.
Sunday the 11th had rehearsal all day pretty much... last week was rehearsals Monday and Tuesday, then the show Wednesday-Saturday. I think it went pretty well. So glad to be done though! Saturday was one of Luann's bridal showers, then Saturday after the final night some of us went to Monical's and then the Bally, which was fun.
This past Sunday the 18th I made up for Jacob's birthday since I had rehearsals (although we did get Chinese for his birthday dinner on his birthday). I (with the help of my dad) made him mac n cheese pizza and a birthday cake, both of which were experimental (and completely from scratch) and delicious. Then it was laundry the rest of the day, and finishing season 3 of Lost :)
Yesterday was a normal Monday for the first time in FOREVER! Went to Christian's recital, which was amazing of course.
Today was a semi-busy day... I was on campus from 9:30-5:30... yuck. Then Rose musical rehearsal 7-9... now I am working on finishing up my paper for 351 so I can turn it in tomorrow and be rid of it!
Then the rest of my week is work more on my presentation on the history of Spanish orthography, then study for the 351 exam on Friday, and practice my senior presentation for the LLL Honors Banquet on Sunday! But I think Saturday I'm going to Moonshine, IL with Jacob's family, so I'm excited about that :) and Kurt's recital is on Saturday as well. And then I'm playing in Kevin's guitar recital on Sunday, too... so busy! but it will all be over soon...
8 school days until finals...
16 full days until I am on summer vacation!

April already?!
Ok so I've kinda been failing at the blog thing...
My Granny's funeral was last Monday (March 29th). So that started off my week last week, and the rest of it was playing catchup with school work, which I still haven't 100% done. I did get a 92.6 on my 351 exam, though! So I was really happy about that. We have a listening quiz in there on Monday and I am going to kick its butt.
Most of my time lately has been taken up with Fusion rehearsals... we have the show Wednesday-Saturday next week so we have at least one rehearsal everyday until then. The 18th is going to be AMAZING!!! I am gonna sleep in and celebrate Jacob's belated birthday, since I have rehearsal on his birthday.
Speaking of birthdays, today's Bri's birthday. She called me at 8:19 this morning, mad that I didn't call her at 1:54 am like I usually do to wish her happy birthday (since that's when she was born). Oh well. She'll live. I can't believe she's 19 already, yet at the same time I can't believe she's not older yet... still a teenager. She's got one more year to get all that angst out. And I'm closer to 23 now... which is crazy.
I am so ready for school to be over. 15 school days until finals week...
and then the 8th of May Jacob and I are headed to London! Ontario, that is. We've got tickets to see Stars (one of my favorite bands, from Montreal) do a preview of their new album coming out this summer. It's an 8.5 hour drive, but we're just going up for the weekend. So that'll kick off my summer, which hopefully will also include a Holiday World trip, a MLS/Cedar Point trip, and a Chicago trip.
I am going to have FUN this summer, before I jump back into school work... but this time as a grad student! and I'll have papers to grade! My very own papers to grade! I think that's what excites me most :) well, besides the stipend :P But seriously, I cannot wait.
But I've still gotta focus on this semester's stuff and hang in a few weeks longer until then... I can do it! I hope...

one wet Monday
Well it is officially spring and it is officially wet. my feet are soaked... I stepped in a puddle on a run for work :(
so last week was pretty busy. My recital went really well! I spent Monday night making the cake balls and snickerdoodles with Jacob. I think they were also a success :) after my recital we went to Applebee's.
Wednesday was St. Paddy's Day aka my 1/2 birthday :) I was supposed to run the Japanese movie for LLL but there was some confusion on the dates and Nicole and I were the only ones there after 20 minutes, so we just left. I met Luann at Coffee Grounds for St. Patricking. The combos were playing, but we went to the Bally because she got a Blarney stone. We waited 2 hours for her to get her prize! She won 3 free tanning sessions. Then we headed to Sonka's which wasn't as packed as I thought it would be, and there weren't many people there we knew, but we shared some Irish nachos at the bar which were delicious.
Friday night Amy and I studied for Spanish and ended up talking until it was time to pick Jacob up for work at 12:30 lol it was a fun evening. I found out the TA stipend is a lot higher than I expected so Jacob and I went to sns to celebrate kind of :)
Saturday I was pretty lazy but tried to get some homework done. I got more done while babysitting that night. They were pretty good. They ended up losing talking to/touching each other privileges but they were asleep by 11:30 so I didn't really mind :)
Sunday/yesterday Jacob didn't have to work so that was nice. I studied a lot for my listening quiz in 351 though.
Today was the listening quiz and I think it went pretty well. I just need to work more on my paper... I am going to stick it out through these last 6 weeks cos I have all summer to not do homework. I've decided I'm going to be better. Luckily I already have most of my hw for tomorrow done.
My granny had another stroke last week and she's in the hospital. This one was the worst yet. She's apparently talking again though and recognizing people so I'm really happy about that.
April is going to be a crazy month for me... between my dance performance for Fusion and Rose's musical and playing in Kevin's recital and being the interim president of Phi Sigma Iota! Oh and also getting ready to wrap up the semester. but then I'm free all summer! cannot wait! and then I start up again in the fall... but it's all Spanish :) can't wait!

no more spring break :(
So Wednesday was probably the best day of spring break... it was BEAUTIFUL outside. Jacob and I had lunch at Fazoli's with my grandparents then we went to Old Navy since Jacob had almost $60 in gift cards. So he got some spring clothes, then we went to Deming and walked around in the SUN!!! it was great. then we sat on a bench swing by the playground for about an hour and dogwatched lol it was fun. then dinner with Mom at Cheeseburger on the patio! best Wednesday EVER
Thursday we hung out with Pebbles for a bit. watched Beverly Hills Chihuahua :) then bowled with Grandma and Amelia. I got a 57, but then I got a 104!!! I wish I could capitalize numbers to show my excitement about this.
Friday Jacob and I went to circle centre and did some window shopping, then ate at the Spaghetti Factory with angry/scary basketball fans. but we got to sit in awesome seats! they were like comfortable thrones... I love that place. Then we went to Metropolis.
Saturday I had the GRE... I had to get up at 6:15! I haven't seen 6:15 in months, I'm sure. Then lunch with Mom and Jacob at Friday's and a lengthy search for a recital dress, but eventually got one at Kohl's, and it was the first I tried on! lol and Mom bought me matching earrings and a necklace to go with it. I am pretty excited. Then Jacob went to work and I had a concert at Rose. It was a lot of waiting in the band room.
Sunday I slept til one... but to be fair, with the time change it was really only noon :) Jacob and I went grocery shopping and we set the kitchen on fire cooking lunch. Ok that may be an exaggeration. Then Jacob had to work and I practiced for my recital, and went home and made copies of my music to avoid page turns, and had my favorite meal for second dinner. with fudge for dessert!
and today is Monday and I'm at work right now. going to my dress rehearsal for my recital in a bit...
Deb said I could still work in the department this summer, so I am excited about not having to find another job. And she just told me what office and officemate I'll probably have in the fall! I am so excited! Just have to get through these last 7 weeks of school before finals and a summer with no homework! haven't had one of those in a while...

spring break!
spring break is finally here! unfortunately, I am not in Alabama :( there was some drama at the end of the week with lost wallets and canceled cards and found wallets, but still canceled cards, and broken cars, and lack of money... long story short, I'm still in TH :(
I got Bri from Franklin on Friday and we had lunch in Greenwood at Johnny Carino's on the way back, which was good. then Max & I hung out a bit.
Saturday had Sinfonietta dress rehearsal then Jacob's parents and Josh came up & we got Friday's and walked around the mall for a bit, then saw Cop Out, which was HILARIOUS. I LOVED it!
Sunday was the Sinfonietta concert. Went pretty well. After that got Real (at my own FATHER'S suggestion!) with Granny and Grandad. He told me to stop asking if I could order stuff (I figured he would have some say since he was paying, but apparently I can order whatever I want!), so I got two different beers.
Yesterday was sleep in day! and laundry day. and practice day although Pebbles was not a fan of that.
Today was help Dad out at his school day to earn some cash to make up for the $249 I lost out on the hotel I already paid for :( then Jacob and I got KFC and had a picnic at Fairbanks park! then we played on the swings until it started raining so now we're hanging out inside. I see a nap in my future. I had to get up at 8 this morning! I NEVER get up that early! oh well. definitely sleeping in tomorrow!
tomorrow is Wednesday already :( this break is going by waaaaaaaaaaay too quickly :( :( :(

Hello, March!
wow so that was a busy last half of the month...
the orchestra/choir concert went well I think. Afterward we went to Applebee's with my parents/Jacob's parents and Josh.
Friday the 19th I babysat Max and probably spent lots of time at Blockbuster. Oh yeah, and went to Sonka's with Clint and he let me drive the Camaro! That was pretty amazing.
Saturday the 20th I had two lunches. One with the rents at that gyro place that used to be BK, and the 2nd one was watching Clint eat IHOP. then I took an epic nap cos my eyes didn't wanna work. Jacob and I had dinner at Olive Garden and then hung out with Bri and Clint later on.
I spent most of Sunday the 21st in the library.
Last Monday had my first rehearsal with Martha for my recital... we just got through the Rodrigo in 30 minutes lol this is gonna be a fun recital...
Tuesday was fun cos the night before I took out my contact while driving and couldn't find my backups or my glasses so I spent the rest of the week with only my left contact in. I got to talk to Sally on skype for almost an hour Tuesday night! so that was amazing.
Wednesday Jacob was sick :( so he stayed home. We had high school German students from Marshall come in so I talked to them and escorted them a bit at work, and got to hear Sally's voice again cos she talked to them from France :) Had Fusion and our illusions look good! I am excited.
Thursday I did a lot of reading in El amor en los tiempos del cólera but I didn't get it finished before it was due back. I'm going to check it out again on Friday when spring break starts & hopefully finish it during the long drive to/from Alabama.
Friday got there pretty quickly surprisingly. Alumni Band makeup game. We didn't have as huge a turn out as last year but I think it being a Friday and the date getting changed affected that a bit. I was glad we played Jungle Boogie so I could scream, and Chameleon cos it's got that crazy lick in it, and some new ones as well.
Saturday I caught up on a lot of homework and got ahead in some. Jacob and I got Little Caesar's for dinner and watched Arrested Development and movies all weekend mostly. It was nice.
and today is March! Which means it is Jacob's and my 4th monthiversary, which is 1/3 of a year! :D
right now I'm at work. 1st of the month = copy charges, so I was pretty pumped. Also, I got my zune on Friday! so I'm listening to that. Oh yeah and I also finally changed my headlight cos picked Jacob up from work Thursday we got pulled over 1 block away from his apartment lol so I finally got that taken care of, with help from my wonderful father. I'm all scratched on my hand and wrist/arm from it, too haha oh well. C'est la vie. Which, ironically, is what I'm listening to on my zune right now. I miss B*Witched. It's even the remix.
This week = 1st draft of 351 paper due on Friday, and keeping up with other homework until freedom on Friday! and Friday I'm going to pick up Bri and bring her home for the weekend, so I'm pumped about that as well.

Busy Week!
So I've been pretty busy, but it's slow at work right now so I'll try to catch up.
Saturday Jacob and I did our Valentine's Day stuff. But first I accompanied my flute student at Solo and Ensemble. She got a gold! Jacob and I went to see Valentine's Day, and it was PACKED. The movie itself was ok. It was cute for what it was. Definitely not as good as Love Actually, though. For dinner we went to Mexico, so all the workers could see my novio nuevo :) haha
Sunday morning we went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast with Luann, Chan, Frankie, and Phil. That was fun. I miss people. Then I had my Rose-Hulman band concert, which went well despite not making it to the last three rehearsals in a row... and I won't see them again until the concert on the 13th of March! and then it's musical time :)
After that we went to the mall and did some shopping. Went to the new shoe store, and got Jacob part of his birthday present early - red high top Chucks! To match his red hoodie :) We also tried to go to White Castle, but failed to make a reservation, so we drove thru instead and ate in the Old Navy parking lot, although we didn't get to go to Old Navy because they closed early... but we did go to Books a Million!
Monday 351 was canceled because Dr. Dean is sick :( Which meant I had more time to do my sociology homework for my online class that was due that day :) I might or might not have procrastinated again... Work was normal, and my flute lesson went well. There was lots of snow plus President's Day so I didn't have my flute lesson with Brooke, and Sinfonietta was canceled, so I spent the rest of the evening doing my sociology homework, and turned it in at 11:59:55 pretty much. I got a 100% on it!
Yesterday went to the string divisional recital, then listened to Dr. Cobb Lippens' announcement about budget cuts and stuff. Doesn't really affect me. Our quiz in Spanish was a group quiz. We also cut and pasted our answers, so that was fun! Orchestra was Bach only, which means I got to leave a little early after we did all my movements. Then Jacob and I got Arby's for dinner, then had the flutio. Kevin had a couple pages mixed up, but we recovered well and you couldn't really tell, except that Kevin appeared flustered lol oh well, 4 weeks until my recital!
Today has been a normal day so far. 351, and I'm at work now. Left work to go get fitted for the Fusion show for a bit. Not much to do around here, hence the update!
Tonight is dress recital for the orchestra concert tomorrow, after I go to Fusion for a bit... and I'm missing the Arabic movie for LLL. *sigh* I am always so busy!
countdown to Gulf Shores: 2 weeks and 5 days!

Babysitting!
I brought my computer to babysitting so I could work on my online class, but I feel like it might be a distraction... oh well!
Wednesday Mom, Jacob and I ate at Beef O'Brady's because Jacob had a gift certificate. I showed him the picture of me on the wall :) well, of the entire marching band my senior year of high school, but still. I'm in it. :) Then I finally got my oil changed, thanks to my awesome mommy, but they wouldn't change my headlight :( but Clint said he would! so that's good.
I had Fusion after that. First rehearsal of the semester! We're dancing to Tik Tok, which makes me happy. We learned quite a bit of the dance (after working out our abs, legs, and arms... boy am I sore) but lost our room 45 minutes early because we didn't have it officially reserved.
Yesterday I had to go to school early to set up Linking Language Learner's book and bake sale. It was kind of scary at first because we didn't have that many baked goods, but it seems to have been another successful sale. We're having another one in April, so we'll have raised a lot of money this semester, which is good.
Then I went to the convo, which was pretty good, and I am that much closer to getting all my convo credits done! Dr. Dye almost didn't hand me a slip cos she didn't think I needed any more :( Sorry to disappoint! Oh well.
Then finally had my classes... had a quiz in Spanish which was easy and talked about fun stuff in Linguistics, too. She asked me if I would be interesting in tutoring, so I might be doing that soon. I can imagine grammar would be harder to teach to native speakers, so it will be a good experience :)
Then orchestra, then I got dinner in the towers with Clint. I love free food, especially when it's all you can eat. Unfortunately there wasn't much there, except for some potatoes O'Brien... oh boy. deeeeeeeeeeelish. But to make up for it I went to Steak n Shake with Jacob when he got off work so don't worry; I didn't starve.
Today was a surprisingly pleasant Friday. 351 went well and I know German and I can get this stuff better than the last stuff for some reason. Then work, which wasn't too bad, and I had to leave early anyway for the walk around concert for the high schoolers. Played the overture to the Magic Flute w/orchestra. Flubbed the tuning note. It was kinda funny, albeit embarrassing. Then practiced for a bit on my own, then with Kevin since we're performing on Tuesday in the Flutio.
Jacob went to work at 5 so I've just been catching up on some of my TV shows until babysitting. I forgot to get food, but Jacob & I will get food after I'm done anyway. Tomorrow is the Solo and Ensemble make up date. Then Jacob & I are doing our Valentine's Day stuff, since I have a concert for Rose-Hulman band on Sunday.
We're trying to do really corny things for our first Valentine's Day together. (Although it's not a big deal to me, I kind of missed celebrating Valentine's Day!) We're going to see Valentine's Day (the movie lol) and go to Real Hacienda for dinner, which I'm excited about, since last week they were very talkative and questioning about my love life. I gotta show off my new man candy! Just kidding! :) Even though we ate there on our first date? But we haven't been there much since.
Sunday if I'm not too tired is Cracker Barrel with the gang for breakfast and then my concert at 2:30. So many performances lately! Orchestra today, accompanying my student tomorrow, Rose-Hulman Band Sunday, Flute recital Tuesday, and Orchestra Concert Thursday! Good thing tomorrow is laundry day; I had to do some interesting improvisation to look semi-dressy today. I haven't had to dress up since Christmas. I don't even know where my black pants are.
Well I think that's a sufficiently lengthy update for now. Until next time!

Snow!
So Monday was a normal Monday. class, and work, and having a flute lesson, and teaching a flute lesson! Dinner at Applebee's to support ACDA, and I got to see Jacob briefly! then Sinfonietta. We were in sectionals. I'm really worried, because our concert is in less than 4 weeks and it doesn't sound like it's getting any better... I hope it was just the cold weather. I don't know. Then I went to the rec center with Luann and did 2 miles on the elliptical in 18:44. I was pretty impressed with/proud of myself.
Yesterday was a not normal Tuesday. There was snow and more snow and I didn't get to participate in any of my classes. But orchestra was fun because we just did the Bach with soloists, and I got done a little early. Then had a quick dinner with Jacob before he had to work. I stayed home from Rose-Hulman band because of the scary snow.
Although I hoped & prayed that we would get a snow day today, we didn't. Sooooo I am pretty mad at the snow, cos I still had to take my 351 test, and my toes have been wet all day. And I have dance tonight and I don't wanna come back to campus in this dumb snow for it :( and it means I have to miss International Poetry Night again.
In other news, I am only 2 episodes behind on Desperate Housewives now, and I am 135 pages in (out of 451) on El amor en los tiempos del cólera so go me!

Super Bowl Sunday
Slept in today. Tried to get up for breakfast with -uchan and the guys, but I hadn't gotten 7 hours of sleep yet so that failed!
Jacob and I went to the mall so I could get another journal for all the awesome things he says that I write down, as well as the new Joan Bauer book. I got a cute dress from Aeropostale, too. It doesn't have pockets, though. Although I did find some adorable ones with pockets at American Eagle, but they're too expensive to justify getting yet.
We had a late lunch at Arby's then went to Wal-Mart. I got Beverly Hills Chihuahua on DVD for 10 bucks! can't wait to watch it with Pebbles :)
Jacob's at work now but I think we're getting IHOP after. I could so use some chocolate chip pancakes!
Oh & apparently the Colts lost the super bowl. I didn't watch lol

weekend?
so I've been pretty busy I guess the past couple of days. Thursday I got my DARS stuff figured out with Dr. Kilp and I am a little more reassured about finishing up everything this semester. Worked out with Luann (and Clint for 3.5 seconds) at the rec center later on. I did 3 miles on the elliptical in 35 minutes! I am pretty proud of myself.
Friday I had a make-up flute lesson since I forgot my flute on Monday. Oh and finally got my form turned in so my recital is definitely Tuesday, March 16th at 7:30 pm! Mark your calendars! And I talked to Dr. Piechocinski and I 99% probably will not have to retake the Keyboard Proficiency Exam. Even practiced with Kevin for a bit. I'm playing on his recital as well, but I don't know when that is yet.
Then I found out the alumni game was postponed due to weather :( and I had to take Jacob in to work for an hour. Then we got all the way to Little Caesar's & I realized I had left my wallet at home... so instead we got food from Kroger and had a night in, in which I demolished season 5 of Desperate Housewives :) finally ready for this current season!
Today Jacob had to work so I had lunch with Chandana at Real Hacienda. The workers were very talkative today :) someone even professed their love for me, so that was exciting! Then Jacob made me chicken and noodles for dinner :) Quite the keeper! then I babysat and just got home a bit ago. I got a lot of reading done in El amor en los tiempos del cólera, so that's good.
Tomorrow = homework! First 351 exam on Wednesday! But for now, it is bedtime :)

busy Thursday!
so I had two quizzes in my two classes today, and each one was equally smote by me. Or so I hope. now I'm just killing time until I'm meeting with Dr. Kilp to get my DARS all taken care of... It still thinks I need to take 4 semesters of flute lessons (272) and class piano (195, 196) which I do not. Then I will be THAT much closer to graduating!!!
I am pleasantly booked this evening. Orchestra until 5:30, Linking Language Learners at 6, going to the rec center at 8 so I can work out while I watch my Thursday night NBC comedies :) busy, busy, busy!!!
Tomorrow night is homecoming at my high school, aka the alumni pep band game! yes, pep band game. I cannot WAIT! I still have the school song memorized. I am so proud of myself.
4 weeks from tomorrow spring break begins! which means 4.5 weeks until Jacob & I leave for Gulf Shores. I am pretty pumped about that. Still have a lot to do before then, though...

Let's try this again!
I've had some sort of blog since March 30, 2004... in fact I had the same blog from then until the last time I posted in it which was July 7, 2009... along with some others, but that was the consistent one. I feel like it's time for something new, so instead of trying to update my old blog (whose URL includes a nickname I tried to give myself and my boyfriend at the time's birthday), I'm starting this one!
so I'm just going to jump right in. I'll mostly update this while I'm at work, as that's where I am now. Downtime while waiting for assignments = boredom. Boredom = starting to blog again. Hence, downtime while waiting for assignments = starting to blog again. Transitive property.
I'm in (hopefully) my last semester as an undergrad here at ISU. Still not sure what I'll be doing in the fall... I have ideas, but we'll see.
